Pre Season friendly vs Bromley Green

Radnor travelled to their 3rd Pre Season friendly vs Bromley Green on Sunday in high hopes of seeing more improvements despite defeats in their last 2 outings.

It was hot, and when I say hot it was really hot. With the pitch as dry as Archie’s sports bra, it was always going to be tough to ask for the boys to put in a solid 90.

Big news and transfer rumours circulating one player, in particular, saw those rumours intensify as goalkeeper Josh Hampton (due to play) didn’t turn up.

Trev and Mick went for a 442 formation but with a diamond midfield using a CDM and CAM to improve the versatility of the team. The starting 11 consisted of MJ, Tom B, Cal, Big Lee, Wayno, Andy, Burgs, Alex, and Jack, with Phil and Ben the flower pot men up front.

It started quite well for Radnor, there was a lot of calm play on the ball, starting from the back and working it forward well, but a moment of brilliance from Bromley Green opened the scoring like Jordan Castle opening a bag of Cheese and Onion crisps at the box.

Bromley Green scored 2 more goals in the first half to make it 3-0 at halftime. 1 goal came from a questionable penalty but the 2nd was a screamer in the top left corner, but questions could be asked of the time given to the Green player as I’ve seen Josh Hampton finish a pint quicker than the lad has to take the shot.

The second half saw a number of changes as the Gaffer wanted to give lads a chance in some other positions. Basically Bromley Green scored 3 more goals blah blah blah but with 10 minutes left Radnor rallied together and scored one of their best goals ever. Some great build-up play and a moment of Brilliance from Big Ben after a beautiful first touch he riffled the ball in over the keeper’s head from 30 yards out.

6-1 final score.

Next friendly Fox FC at Sandyacres.
